PUGET SOUND ROUTE  2008

FROM PUGET SOUND WA , USA

UPDATE – Puget Sound Landing and take-off points for Nisqually, Puyallup and Muckleshoot stops are as follows:  
Nisqually will be at Solo Point by Stellicom and Dupont (south of Tacoma)
Puyallup will be at Owen Beach – Point Defiance, in Tacoma.

 

 

Muckleshoot will be at Alki Point in Seattle. Canoes will stay there – with security watch. People will be bussed back to Muckleshoot for overnites. Will depart saturday morning. CLICK HERE for Directions to these three points.

July 14th BC FERRIES land in Port Hardy at 11:30 PM, with the canoe families from the north, coming from Haida Gwaii, Nisgaa and possibly others (Tsimpsian, NWT, Yukon) to join with canoes continuing on the SALISH SEA ROUTE.

NOTES:

 

 

  • Protocol starts the day the canoes land – July 28.
  • Be ready when it is your turn or you will lose you place in protocol.
  • Be respectful to others and cut floor time short to allow for “everyone” to be heard.
  • Be respectful to all canoe families and the HOST please.

 Cowichan will serve ONE meal a day ~ It was suggested to please bring your own plate, silverware, cup (reuseable!! You wash your own)

  2. Hi – the landing at kulleet bay on the 27th is not happening – still waiting for an update from Dwanda at NAIG. This info. came from Dallas Brock of the band at Kulleet Bay.

  3. i have been on several journeys i would like to particpate this year, my last one was 2004 to ladysmith w/skok rez,mabe even build a strip canoe!!

    I love the atmisphere and the people invalved,I am glad it is Drug and Alcohal Free
    My Husband and I have been Drug and Alcohal Free for John Sailto 25 year New Years Eve and I have been for 27 years on Feb 8,2008 I am proud of the People who go on these Journeys Love all God Bless see you next Journeys

  12. We were fortunate to experience the canoes leaving Port Hardy and landing in Port Rubert.

  14. the conoe journey was the best it is such a blast all the expirences you go through it was very sad about jerry jack i couldnt belive it after that for a day or two i wouldnt go in the conoe but it was a fun trip
