Native Tribal Canoe Journey 2013 – Paddle to Quinault – is on!

Native ocean-going canoes from Washington State, Oregon, British Columbia, Canada, and possibly Alaska are making their way to the Washington Coast Quinault Village of Taholah. All the canoes will gather at Quinault August 1st and will participate in Native Protocol, Songs, Presentations, Gift-giving, and Feasting through August 6th. (See Canoe Journey Schedules, below.)

Canoes of the Puget Sound and Skagit:
Canoes land in Suquamish on July 19th and only spend 1 night and leave on the 20th.

Canoe Groups and Msg Boards on the Web

Please be aware that the Washington Canoe Society Group – formerly on MSN – is now located on a service called “Multiply”.  MSN closed their Groups service which required the move. The new web address is http://eaglewar.multiply.com/  . CLICK HERE to go there now. You may need to re-apply for membership but it is easy to do, and will involve setting up a new profile and a webpage for yourself.   

Additionally there are several other Groups / message boards serving Native communities, and other interested people, with ways to share news and updates relating to Canoe Journeys and other events and happenings. These message boards have been in use for several years and are interactive for you to participate in many ways. Just click on the title below to go there.

There are many ways to stay connected with the Canoe Families and events throughout the year.  We encourage you to participate in as many ways as possible.

2008 Paddle to Cowichan, B.C.

2008 Paddle to Cowichan, B.C. will be prior to the 2008 North American Indigenous Games, also hosted by Cowichan. 

Canoes will arrive at Cowichan, B.C. on July 28, 2008.

80 Native canoes from Oregon, Washington, British Columbia and Alaska will participate in this year’s Tribal Journeys events.  Protocol will be from July 28 to August 1, 2008.
